China approves D-psicose 3-epimerase as new enzyme preparation for the food industry

According to a notice issued by the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China on 6th May 2023, the usage of D-psicose 3-epimerase from Bacillus subtilis and provided by Ruminococcus sp. CAG55, as a new type of enzyme preparation for the food industry, has been approved. The quality of D-psicose 3-epimerase must adhere to the standards outlined in the national standards GB 1886.174 regarding enzyme preparations for the food industry.
