During routine food inspections, the Municipal Affairs Bureau detected excessive aspartame in a pre-packaged plum product. The problematic product is named “Taiwan Mountain Plum – Seedless Original Flavour” under the brand “Ms. Plum” (“玩梅女人“), weighs 30 grams, and has a “best before” date of February 16, 2024. The test found that every kilogram of the product contained 14,400 milligrams of aspartame, exceeding the standard established under Administrative Regulation No. 12/2018 in Macao. The Bureau has ordered the involved merchants to stop selling and recall the problematic products, and urged citizens who have purchased related products to immediately stop consuming them.
